All Events and Meetings are Open to the Public

June 5, 2021 from 11 am to 3 pm


Jack Woods, author of Growing up in Eldred, will be at the Hodges Building in Carrollton from 11 am to 3 pm for a book signing. Come purchase a book and get it signed or bring your copy for signature. The book signing will coincide with Huntin' for Treasure Days In Carrollton, which will take place on June 4 and 5 on the Public Square featuring a variety of vendors and foods for sale.

July 18, 2021 at 2:00 pm


Angie Custer will make a presentation on the More Building of Greene County.

September 10 - 11, 2021  - Annual Greene County Days


Museum and library will be open for tours both days from 9 am to 3 pm. Several activities and special exhibits will be conducted both days in the museum.

November 21, 2021 at 2:00 pm


David George will make a presentation on his collection of milk bottles from Greene County and the history of local dairies from 1906 to 1950.

January 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm


All attendees bring Greene County Advertising Memorabilia prior to 1950 to present and discuss.


Our Mission

The mission of the Society shall be to research, collect care for, exhibit, and interpret items that illustrate the history of Greene County from settlement to the present time, and place it in the context of the history of the State of Illinois.
