Located in the Lee-Baker-Hodges House, the organization disseminates historical information by publicizing such material in newspapers or otherwise, by developing educational programs, and by operating a museum for the benefit of the public.

The Society is located in the Lee-Baker-Hodges House on North Main Street on the northwest corner of the square in Carrollton, Illinois. The Society Library and Museum hours are:

Our Mission
The mission of the Society shall be to research, collect care for, exhibit, and interpret items that illustrate the history of Greene County from settlement to the present time, and place it in the context of the history of the State of Illinois.
